This is a great opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated General Manager to be responsible for the Finance, IT, Health and Safety and Business Service functions within CablePrice.

The success of CablePrice relies on a high level of financial acumen and the ability to communicate with our overseas owners on areas relating to finance. As such, this diverse role is critical to our company and contributes to the overall achievement of CablePrice.

As part of the Executive Management Team, you will work alongside the Managing Director and two other General Managers to influence the outcomes of CablePrice and directly contribute to its continued success through great decision making and providing direction. You will have the opportunity to travel to our 13 branches within New Zealand and there will be some opportunities to travel overseas.

The right person will bring a high level of professionalism and have the ability to look beyond the status quo and strive toward continuous improvement. It also oversees some key areas within the company that are heavily relied on such as IT, excellent Health and Safety practice and key administrative functions.

The role is a combination of keeping the wheels turning in terms of all accounting and reporting functions, compliance and monitoring and reacting to KPI’s that drive success of the business plus working on strategy and initiatives that will shape the future of the company.

You must be able to demonstrate you have excellent people management skills, strong interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate and influence others. The key competencies required to undertake this role are:

  • You will be a qualified accountant
  • You will have managed diverse teams
  • You will have experience in developing strategies and plans
  • You will have commercial accounting experience
  • You will have sound commercial experience and competency in negotiating with external parties
  • You will understand the financial drivers of a diverse business comprised of import/distribution, parts retail network, service workshops etc
  • You will have experience with developing successful financial models, including Budgeting and Forecasting
  • You will have experience in parent company reporting
  • You will need to be agile and have the ability to think on your feet
  • You will be a Team Player

You will be responsible for delivering on a number of areas that have a significant impact on the success of CPL as a company. It is not a role for the faint hearted but the opportunity is there to make a significant contribution and shape the future.
