Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) (www.hcma.com.au) is a global brand providing a variety of machinery for the construction and mining industries.

HCA is currently seeking an experienced Workshop Leading Hand to join our team in Forrestdale.

The successful applicant will lead a highly skilled workshop crew performing assembly, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment for our valued customers.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor your main responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical advice to all aspects of equipment assembly
  • Perform diagnostic evaluation of components and relevant systems
  • Conduct basic failure analysis and identify specific modes of failure
  • Identify continuous improvements within your area of responsibility
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Achieving a high level of customer satisfaction and best practice standards.
  • Assist with the development of quotes
  • Provide on the job training to the workgroup, including apprentices

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • A relevant Heavy Diesel trade qualification
  • Proven experience in a similar role leading a team of skilled tradespeople with the ability to build a cohesive team with a common goal.
  • Experience with mining/earthmoving equipment
  • Excellent diagnostic and fault finding skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements.
  • Supportive and “can do” attitude.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment.
  • Current Drivers license.
